Instagram Transcript

The Instagram provider does not always return timecodes. Some responses contain clean spoken text but no start or end values for individual phrases. In that case this page enables TXT and keeps SRT and VTT unavailable. It deliberately does not invent evenly spaced cues or pretend that untimed paragraphs are synchronized subtitles. That distinction prevents a text-only result from becoming a misleading caption file that drifts as soon as the Reel starts playing.

When every returned segment includes valid timing, SRT and WebVTT become available automatically. SRT is useful for editors and social publishing workflows, while WebVTT fits web players and browser delivery. Preview the exported file against the original Reel before publishing. Fast cuts, speech laid over music, jump edits, and multiple speakers can expose timing boundaries that need a manual adjustment even when the provider returned valid numbers.

A short Instagram video can contain a recipe, product demonstration, interview answer, customer objection, or creative hook that is difficult to search later. Clean text makes those details easier to tag, compare, and move into a content brief. Save the post URL beside your notes, identify the speaker when it matters, and record any manual corrections. That context helps a teammate understand which words came from the post and which were added during editing.

Use Instagram Transcript only for public media you are permitted to process. The output does not grant a license to repost a creator’s voice, likeness, captions, or original ideas. Respect attribution, privacy, takedowns, and Instagram’s rules. Avoid placing personal speech into a public article or training dataset without an appropriate basis. During the limited free period, rate limits keep the shared provider available for normal one-video-at-a-time use.

When a Reel is part of a campaign, add the publication date and account handle to your notes because captions and descriptions can change after the transcript is created. Keep the untouched provider output if the exact first result matters, then make editorial corrections in a separate copy. This preserves provenance without forcing teammates to repeat the provider request.
